A short vehicle pursuit on Saturday, January 5th by Clay County Sheriff’s Office Deputies resulted in the arrest of Timothy Gillespie, age 38 of West Point. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated Gillespie attempted to elude officers in a short foot chase but was captured in the woods by deputies on CC Line Road in Una. Deputies recovered Synthetic Marijuana (Spice) and approximately 1 gram of Crack Cocaine. Gillespie is charged with Resisting Arrest, Careless Driving, Improper Equipment, Fleeing Arrest, DUI-1st, Possession of Synthetic Marijuana (Spice) and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Crack Cocaine. He also is being held on a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant.
