Christopher Avant

A traffic stop by Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies on December 23rd on Walker Sanders Road in western Clay County resulted in the arrest of Christopher Avant, age 35 of Mantee. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated Clay County Narcotic Investigators have charged Avant with Possession of Marijuana w/Intent to Distribute. Scott said approximately 1 pound of marijuana was seized with a street value of approximately $1,600.00. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics is assisting in the case.

Avant is currently incarcerated at the Clay County Detention Center with a bond set at $10,000.00. He also has a hold by Desoto County, MS for drug related charge.
