Clay County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a potential stolen vehicle on Hwy. 50 East in the early morning hours on Friday, May 17th. Upon further investigation a small amount of methamphetamine was discovered on Rebecca Hallman, age 31 of Vernon, Alabama. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated Hallman has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and also has a charge of Taking of a Motor Vehicle from Lamar County, Alabama.

Clark remains incarcerated at the Clay County Detention Center with a hold from Lamar County, Alabama. Bond has been set at $5,000.00.
