On March 13th, agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Clay County Sheriff's Office and West Point Police Department conducted a search warrant at 389 Little Street in West Point. Agents seized approximately 275 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of heroin, 100 grams of marijuana and $48,451.00 in cash. Agents also seized a Dodge Challenger Hellcat.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated that Demaris Walker, age 33 was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance w/Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Also charged was Georgia Sloan, age 30 of Columbus with 2 counts of Possession of Controlled Substance (Heroin and Methamphetamine). Adair Walker, age 43 of West Point was charged with child endangerment due to a child being in the environment with narcotics in plain sight. The child was checked and released to family members.
Bond was set at $300,000.00 for Demaris Walker, $10,000.00 for Georgia Sloan and $10,000.00 for Adair Walker. Demaris Walker and Sloan remain incarcerated at the Clay County Detention Center.
