On December 6th Clay County Sheriff Office Investigators arrested and charged Tabitha Hines, age 42 of West Point with Felony Animal Cruelty and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated that the animal cruelty charge resulted from the torture and killing of a domesticated dog. Sheriff 's deputies prevented Hines from killing a second dog that was at the scene. In addition, she was served a Circuit Court Indictment for Felony Fleeing of a Law Enforcement Officer. Hines bond was set at $20,000.00 for animal cruelty, $10,000.00 for felony fleeing and $5,000.00 for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, she remains incarcerated at the Clay County Detention Center.
