The Clay County Sheriff’s Department in conjunction with the Columbus Police Department have arrested and charged two individuals, Steven Dison, ager 19, of West Point and Tyler Honeycutt, age 18, of Columbus with burglary of a commercial building that occurred Sunday, September 13th.
Sheriff Eddie Scott stated both individuals were arrested without incident in Columbus on Wednesday night at a local hotel by the Columbus Police Department. Information from a Crime Stoppers tip led to the location of the 2 individuals.
Scott stated that the assistance from our local community members in identifying the suspects and the Crime Stoppers tip providing the location of the suspects assisted law enforcement in the speedy apprehension of the suspects.
Scott stated that Crime Stoppers continues to be a vital assess to law enforcement agencies and encourages anyone with any information to contact the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers.
Scott stated that the information remains anonymous and rewards of up to $1,000.00 leading up to the arrest of suspects can be paid.
Scott said Clay County Sheriff Investigators are in the process of locating the stolen firearms.
Both individuals are currently being held in the Clay County Detention Center.
