The Clay County Sheriff Department is actively investigating the recent rash of home burglaries that have occurred in western Clay County. Three houses have been burglarized with the intruder/intruders kicking open the door to enter the residences. Weapons and cash have been taken from the homes. 

Sheriff Eddie Scott reminds citizens to remain vigilant and notify law enforcement of any suspicious vehicle or persons in their area or neighborhoods. Scott said Clay County Sheriff Department Investigators are aggressively investigating any and all leads in the case.

Scott suggested for all residents to record firearm serial numbers and take photos of jewelry and other valuable household items and put in a secure place for safe keeping.
