The Clay County Sheriff Department has made a series of arrests related to the recent burglaries in Clay County.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said the following individuals have been arrested and charged as follows: Drake Parker, age 22, of West Point is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon – bond $10,000.00 and possession of a Bowie knife by a convicted felon – bond $10,000.00.
Joseph Bradley Young, age 28, of West Point is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon - bond $10,000.00, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine – bond $25,000.00 and disposal of stolen property – bond $10,000.00.
David Nation, age 36, of Pheba is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon – bond $10,000.00 and disposal of stolen property – bond $10,000.00.
Justin Mosley, age 27, of Pheba is charged with sale of cocaine – bond $25,000.00 and disposal of a stolen firearm – bond $10,000.00.
Jacob Hawkins, age 19, of West Point is charged with possession of a controlled substance – misdemeanor.
Cliff Stevenson, age 31, of West Point is charged with possession of paraphernalia – misdemeanor.
Teresa Atkins, age 52, of West Point is charged with possession of marijuana – misdemeanor.
Parker, Hawkins, Young, Nation and Mosley are currently incarcerated at the Clay County Detention Center.
Scott stated that during the course of the investigation several stolen firearms were recovered along with weapons that have had serial number filed off. The investigation is ongoing in conjunction with the West Point Police Department, the Oktibbeha County Sheriff Department, the Webster County Sheriff Department and the Eupora Police Department.
